University Pre-Primary

Our History

University Pre-Primary is an independent pre-primary school that was established in
1972 to educate the children of the staff at the University of Cape Town. We started
in the St Thomas Church hall in Rondebosch and in 1977 the parents of the time
purchased the Victorian house at 2 Kent Road Rosebank where we have been happily
educating children ever since.

We offer termly outings which focus on caring for the environment. We have many visitors to the school to help enrich the programmes. We do an away weekend to Geelbek in the West Coast National Park with the parents & children where many long lasting bonds are made.

Language Enrichment

We teach in English but include songs in isiXhosa and Afrikaans.

We offer 4 extramural programmes run by dedicated professionals for your child to
